I thought this would keep my son warm in the cold school classrooms during summer. A regular jacket is too much. Unfortunately, the fabric is very thin for that purpose. We got an M and my 15 yo is 5'10" and fit. The vest would have looked better if it was as long as it looks in the pictures. We'll see how he feels wearing it around. I may end up inheriting it to wear to gym.
